Midcentury Fibreglass Rocket Floor Lamp, 1960s, Czechoslovakia

Often described as a lamp from Denmark but this type of rocket lamp was produced in the former Czechoslovakia in the late 1950s and 1960s: the Space Age. Manufacturer: Novoplast, Dolná Streda, Czech Republic. In very good Vintage condition, shows signs of age and use.
Materials: Tripod base made of 3 conical teak legs. Long tubular yellow-orange glass fibre lampshade. 6 small brass tubes. Some brass parts. Brass B22 sockets.
These Czechoslovak lamps were imported to the UK by Sheerlite Ltd in the 1970´s and they were sold by the postorder company Argos in the 1970s. Argos was founded in 1973 and still exists.
Electricity: 2 bulbs B22 (bayonet fitting), 2 x 60 watt maximum, 110/220 volt.
Any type of light bulb can be used. Not a specific one preferred. Clear light bulbs have been used for this setup.

Novoplast is a company from the Czech Republic. The company was founded in 1947 and is specialised in glass-fibre reinforced plastics. The company still exists, but they don’t produce lighting anymore.
