Canadian Lounge Chair and Ottoman, 1960s – Northfield Metal Products
The chair features a classic combination of molded plywood shells with wood veneer, original leather upholstery with button tufting, and a swiveling aluminum base. The original reclining mechanism, manufactured by Northfield Metal Products Co. Ltd., Waterloo, Ontario, is still present and identified by the original metal label beneath the seat.
Designed for comfort, the chair offers a relaxed, slightly reclining seating position typical of lounge chairs from this period. Its timeless design makes it suitable both as a statement piece in a modern interior and as an authentic vintage accent in a mid-century setting.
Two identical chairs with matching ottomans are available. They can be purchased individually or as a pair.

Condition: Good vintage condition.
The chair and ottoman show visible signs of age and use consistent with their approximately 60–70 years of age, including natural patina and light wear to the leather. The upholstery remains intact and presentable, with no structural damage. Wooden elements are in very good condition, showing only minor cosmetic wear at the edges.
The swivel and reclining mechanism is functional, though it has not been professionally restored or overhauled. Overall, the set retains a very attractive, honest vintage appearance.
