Art Glass Floor Lamp, Lighting by Rene Roubicek, 1960s
This exceptional floor lamp was designed by René Roubíček and produced in Nový Bor, the historic center of Czech glassmaking. The piece represents a striking fusion of lighting design and sculptural glass art, characteristic of Roubíček’s experimental and expressive approach during the mid-20th century.
The lamp features a vertical metal structure articulated with starburst glass elements and suspended hand-cut glass pendants in a vivid spectrum of colors. The dynamic composition creates a strong visual presence and transforms light into a decorative, almost kinetic experience.
More than a functional light source, this lamp stands as a collectible art object closely related to studio glass and interior installations of the 1960s–1970s. It is well suited for representative interiors, galleries, or curated design collections.
