Retro Chest of Drawers, Jitona, 1960s, Czechoslovakia
A timeless retro cabinet produced by Jitona in the former Czechoslovakia during the 1960s. The piece is crafted from veneered solid wood with a two-tone finish and a high-gloss lacquer, standing elegantly on tapered legs inspired by the Brussels style design of the era.
The cabinet features a double-wing section with an internal shelf on the left and a set of drawers on the right, offering both style and functionality. The veneer shows rich walnut and teak tones, and the overall structure is solid and well-preserved with only minor abrasions consistent with age.
An excellent example of mid-century Czech modernist furniture — simple, functional, and beautifully balanced in proportion and finish.
